Methodology
Every tool on this site lives in a structured database with the same fields: pricing tiers, features, AI capabilities, pros, cons, and four scores. Pages are generated from that database, so a comparison never cherry-picks.
The four scores (1–5)
- Ease of use — how fast a non-technical small-business owner becomes productive. Onboarding, UI clarity, documentation.
- Value — capability per dollar at small-business scale (1–10 people, up to ~10k contacts). A tool can be excellent and still score low here if pricing is hostile to small teams.
- Features — depth and breadth within the tool's own category. We don't penalize a CRM for not sending newsletters.
- Support — channels, response quality, and community ecosystem.
The overall score is the simple average. We show all four so you can weigh what matters to you — if you're technical, discount ease of use; if budget is tight, weight value.
Data freshness
Every pricing table shows a "verified" date. Pages with data older than 90 days are flagged in our system for re-verification, and we prune or update pages rather than let stale numbers sit.
What we don't do
- No pay-for-placement. Rankings come from scores, not commissions.
- No fabricated hands-on claims. Where a judgment is editorial, it is labeled as our take.
- No hiding the losers. Tools that pay us no commission appear in comparisons when they're relevant.
